Former Oregon Project Coach Steve Magness named University of Houston Assistant Cross Country Coach

After spending the last two years assisting and advising Alberto Salazar with the Oregon Project, Steve Magness has been named to the coaching staff at his alma mater the University of Houston.

Magness will serve as a coach for both cross country and track & field teams.

Along with his duties at the University of Houston, Magness will continue coaching at the professional level. Along with Jackie Areson, Tommy Schmitz, Sara Hall was recently added to the list of athletes he coaches and advises.

Magness looks forward to expanding the number of professional athletes he works with in the future. There are a few other potential athletes that have expressed interest in joining up with the new Cougar coach.

With his supporting role in the build up and Olympic success of Mo Farah & Galen Rupp, any college or pro athlete would be remiss not to have a conversation with this talented young coach.
