Former Iowa State star Lisa Koll is headed West to start her professional running career in Portland, Oregon.

At least that’s what Twitter posts emanating from Shalane Flanagan, Simon Bairu and Tim Nelson indicate. Flanagan posted earlier today on Twitter,  “I am WICKED excited to announce that we have a new member joining our group…..I have another pony tail to run with!!!”.

And more recently, she confirmed that the ponytail in question belongs to Koll.  “My new training partner in crime is Lisa Koll!!”, Flanagan posted on Twitter.

Some of  Koll’s recent comments pointed to the likelihood of the move out west.

Speaking with RunnerSpace.com after the Bix 7, Koll revealed that she’ll be putting her veterinary studies on hold while she pursues running professionally and her fiance, Kiel Uhl, will be attending graduate school at the University of Oregon.

With the abundance of Nike resources and tremendous results coming out of OTC Portland training group, the choice to join seems to be great situation for the collegiate 10,000-meter record holder begins her pro career.
