IAAF unveils Hall of Fame, 5 of the 12 inductees hail from the USA

The IAAF announced today the first 12 athletes to be inducted in their Hall of Fame.  The list includes  USA track & field legends: Jesse Owns, Carle Lewis, Ed Moses, Al Oerter & Jackie Joyner-Kersee.  Take a look at the full list.

The 12 inaugural inductees

Jesse Owens (USA)      Abebe Bikila (ETH)

Paavo Nurmi (FIN)      Carl Lewis (USA)

Emil Zátopek (TCH)          Al Oerter (USA)

Adhemar da Silva (BRA)    Ed Moses (USA)

Fanny Blankers-Koen (NED)     Betty Cuthbert (AUS)

Jackie Joyner-Kersee (USA)        Wang Junxia (CHN)

Interesting to see that along with distance legends Bikila, Zatopek and Nurmi the IAAF chose to include Wang Junxia.  Though she never tested positive, her 10,000m WR is still seen as highly suspicious.
